We would like to take a minute to congratulate Grounds for Health on the recent selection of their new Chair of the Board, Frank Dennis. Dennis had previously held the position of Grounds for Health Treasurer for three years. He also brings years of experiences running his own company; he is the CEO of Swiss Water Decaffeinated Coffee Company. “Frank is the perfect candidate to see our organization into its 15th year. He has the right combination of passion and experience to take Grounds for Health to the next level,” says Grounds for Health Executive Director, August Burns.
When asked about his selection, Dennis had this to say: “I’m hopeful that I can add as much value as those before me. Both [Coffee Enterprises President – outgoing Grounds for health president] Dan Cox and [previous President, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Vice President] Jon Wettstein have done so much for the organization through a period of rapid growth.” And growth is indeed what Grounds for Health has been doing in its 14 year history.
Grounds for Health is 501(c)(3) organization that establishes sustainable cervical cancer prevention programs in coffee-growing communities. Since 1996, the organization has been bringing healthcare to women in rural communities, and has screened more than 19,000 women for cervical cancer. Armed with innovative training programs, Grounds for Health is currently focused on building the capacity of local healthcare professionals to screen and treat for cancer on their own, so they can continue to save women’s lives well into the future.
