The dynamic forces of the Roasters Guild and Barista Guild have come together for the 2nd annual SCAA Leadership Summit (SLS) Brew Battle!

Time: 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm
This event will bring together roasters, baristas and other coffee professionals who are in Portland for SLS, but everyone is welcome. The event is free and open to the public – come on by and join in the festivities! No advance registration is required.
Beer and soda will be provided by our generous host, Sustainable Harvest Coffee Importers.
BREW BATTLE INFORMATION
Teams of 2 Baristas and 1 Roaster will be assigned randomly. All teams will be paired no later than 1 week before the event. Each team will need collaborate and provide a single coffee to use for the competition prior to the event. The team should provide enough whole-bean coffee that they feel will be adequate for all of their brewing needs.
For this friendly competition, the team will manually brew and batch brew coffee for four judges within ten minutes. The manual brew method will vary and will be announced at the start of their respective competition time. The batch brewer (make & model, brew time and water volume) will be disclosed when the teams have been formed. The brewed coffee will be evaluated according to the Finals Round Brewers Cup Scoresheet. Once the coffees are served to the judges, the team has a maximum of 60 seconds to present their coffees.
